London Underground, affectionately known as the ‘Tube’, is the 12th busiest metro system in the World with over 5 million passenger journeys a day. The Underground system operates over eleven lines, containing 250 miles (400km) of track and serving 270 stations, stretching across the City, Greater London and parts of Buckinghamshire, Essex and Hertfordshire.
From time to time, in association with the London Transport Museum, other heritage railways and private owners, London Underground operate special charter trains and publicly run services utilising heritage rolling stock. In this section of the website, you will find our images of these trains, captured during various charters and events, at various locations.
