On 16th September 2023 the London Bus Preservation Trust, in conjunction with Heritage Open Days operated a number of heritage London buses along Route 38 between Clapton Pond and Victoria Station. Featuring 23 vehicles of the AEC Regent III and AEC Routemaster families running alongside the normal Route 38 allocation of Wrightbus NB4L vehicles, the event provided a window into the routes’ past operation.
